Facebook's New App "Mentions" Helps Public Figures Connect to Their Audience

Facebook has rolled out yet another app, but this one has a special feature:

You can’t use it.

That is, unless you’re famous (in which case, thanks for reading this blog!). The new app is called “Mentions,” and it’s meant for public figures to better engage with their fanbases.

It’s available to those with verified Facebook pages in the United States, although it will eventually be opened worldwide and to lower-level influencers with conventional Facebook pages.
